
Marla Joi Newborn
LMSW, CASAC
Marla is a licensed master social worker and addiction specialist with a strong clinical background helping clients understand and navigate through complex trauma, alcohol abuse, drug and sex addiction, mood disorders, and challenging life transitions. She uses a person-centered, individualized approach that always includes a harm reduction framework. Marla is committed to collaborating with her clients so they have agency in their therapy journey, and she believes therapy is most effective when a genuine and trusting relationship develops that leads to figuring it out together.
Marla currently works with individuals, couples, and families aged 18-80. Marla helps her clients begin to know themselves more deeply through self-awareness, self-compassion, and self-acceptance.
Marla earned her masters in social work from Fordham University, and received her undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida State University.
